King of The Copper Mountains
I read this book again and again from the time I was 8 years old until I was 10. It never ceased to fascinate me as a child. I can't seem to find a copy for my own kids. If you are looking for a good bedtime story for children it is a must read.

An enchanting story that will delight young and old.
A 1000 yr. old King is dying and only the Wonder Doctor can save him by collecting a magic plant which blooms but once a year. On his travels to find the plant the doctor tells all the animals he meets to go the the Copper Castle and tell the king a story, only these will keep him alive until the doctor returns. The animal's stories are both enchanting and captivating fitting together like the pieces of a puzzle. Dwarves, dragons and magical lands will keep your interest until the end which, like a good malt whisky, is rounded and smooth. I first read this book at the age of 8 and have read it at least 15 times since. I am a primary school teacher and have read it to all the classes I have taught. This books is appealing to all age ranges, including adults. If you find a copy BUY it! You will not be disappointed.

Terrific sequel to ANOTHER MAN'S WIFE
Between contracts, racecar driver Rick (Lucky) Hawkins seeks to fill an emptiness in his life. Giving away his motorcycle and buying a new BMW, Rick detours on his trip to select a contract to sign, stopping to visit his father and his new stepmother in Texas. Crossing the Texas boarder, Rick searches for a radio station, settling for a late night show playing an eclectic mix of classical, country, soft rock. The female disc jockey, Red Jarrett, includes her own original compositions in the show as well.

After an unorthodox beginning, Rick strikes up the acquaintance of his stepmother Pam's cousin Audra. She attempts to squelch their instant attraction, however, because a man like Rick burned her once, and she does not care to repeat the experience. With a broken leg and obnoxious, interfering cousins, however, Audra soon welcomes Rick into her home while he recovers from a horse riding injury. It takes a while, however, for Rick to realize she owns the sexy voice he heard in the late night hours. The question remains if their extreme differences will keep them apart or draw them even closer together.

A riveting read, HOME TO COPPER MOUNTAIN provides a marvelous sequel to ANOTHER MAN'S WIFE. Family discord brings together two powerful characters with Audra and Rick. With poignant flair, author Rebecca Winters pens an endearing contemporary romance with richly developed characters and profound motivation. While an excellent sequel, HOME TO COPPER MOUNTAIN works equally as well as a stand-alone. With love that spans generations, HOME TO COPPER MOUNTAIN comes highly recommended.

RaceCar Driver meets late night DJ
HOME TO COPPER MOUNTAIN by Rebecca Winters

Romance and love are found in the most unusual circumstances in HOME TO COPPER MOUNTAIN, part of a series of Harlequin Superromances by Rebecca Winters. In this book, Rick "Lucky" Hawkins is a professional racecar driver, who visits his father Clint and new wife Pam in Texas. During the drive to the Jarrett Ranch where his father and Pam now live, he listens to the radio and hears the most beautiful voice. What he does not know but finds out soon is that this voice belongs to Pam's younger cousin, Audra Jarrett. He falls in love with this voice, while at the same time Audra hears stories of Clint's son Rick, and she instantly formulates an opinion of him, and it's not favorable.

Audra is recovering from a horrific accident in which her date lost his life and she is paying for it with an injured leg and a string of nightmares. When Audra and Rick finally meet, they clash, partly because of Audra's past history of rejection and tragedy. Her fear to trust and make commitments is evident, and Rick does all he can to make her change her opinion of him.

In the meantime, while Audra watches Pam and Clint in their newfound happiness, she finds herself slowly being caught up in the person that is Rick Hawkins. And amidst family turbulence that makes the Hatfields and McCoys seem like a day in the park, Rick and Audra work together to help Audra and the Jarretts come to terms with a tragedy that happened decades ago.

Thumbs up for HOME TO COPPER MOUNTAIN. This was yet another well-written romance, with a plot that was different from the usual "boy meets girl" themes. I would definitely read another book by Rebecca Winters.

wonderful small town contemporary romance
Out of work Formula One race-car superstar Rick "Lucky" Hawkins drives through Texas to visit his father Clint and his dad's new wife Pam. He misses the turn-off because the sultry voice of the late night DJ, Red Jarrett hooks his thoughts. He realizes his mistake and complete the ride.

Though he planned to stay aloof from his stepfamily, Rick finds he is unable to keep any distance as Pam and her kin welcome him with open arms with one hesitant exception. He especially finds his stepmother's cousin Audra Jarrett of the sultry voice fame quite intelligent and he wants her. However, Audra is a victim of tragedy and though she is attracted to Rick, she fears commitment as something happens to those she cherishes. So how is she to deal with loving Rick, who drives high-speed cars for a living? She concludes she can't because if he crashed she could not recover. Rick will need more than love, perhaps a lot of luck, to persuade Audra that being together only for the moment but with the potential of forever is worth the risk.

Though the Jarrett brood seems overwhelming at times, readers obtain a wonderful small town contemporary romance starring two fine protagonists. Rick and Audra make the tale hum especially with her reluctance to risk her heart on someone whose work is so dangerous. As usual Rebecca Winters provides a deep poignant tale with characters readers will appreciate and like.
